SpeedDigester K-425 / K-436

SpeedDigester - flexibility, speed, reproducibility

Flexibility:
Use of 300 or 500 ml tubes with the same instrument

Speed:
Time savings due to short heat-up and cool-down times

Reproducibility:
Reproducibility thanks to homogeneous heat distribution

On these two systems the heating level is adjusted using continuous controls. The optimized design of the heating chambers reliably ensures all samples are homogeneously heated, an aspect that prevents the foaming of critical samples. The acid fumes produced are removed with the aid of the optional Scrubber
B-415
. As a consequence the ambient air in the laboratory remains free of harmful vapors.

Outstanding features of the SpeedDigester K-425 and K-436:

  • High speed and throuput
  • Excellent reproducibility
  • Selection of sample tubes
  • Highest safety standards
  • Special suction manifolds
  • Accelerated digestion with H2O2

High speed and throughput

An increased sample throughput is achieved thanks to the considerably higher heat transfer capability of infrared heaters as compared to contact heating sources. In addition, the heat-up and cool-down periods are considerably shortened. As a result, the total time needed for digestion is significantly reduced.

Excellent reproducibility

Reproducible results are achieved based on excellent and efficient thermal homogeneity for every sample tube due to the innovative isolation plate. The newly designed heating chamber which guarantees that the sample tubes are heated efficiently allows for optimal digestions without foaming.

 Back

Selection of sample tubes

The SpeedDigester accepts 300 ml as well as
500 ml sample tubes. The 300 ml sample tubes are suitable for Kjeldahl digestions for most samples, whereas the larger sample tubes are especially exciting in the field of environmental analysis since they allow for the use of larger sample volumes.

 Back

Highest safety standards

Safe operation and protection of laboratory equipment thanks to the  tightly sealed suction system.

All acid fumes created during digestion are completely exhausted through the Scrubber B‑415.

 Back

Special suction manifolds

Suction module standard: The mainly used suction module – appropriate for most applications.

Suction module with condensate trap: For aqueous samples – prevents back flow of condensate to the sample.

Suction module for H2O2: For fast H2O2 digestion – Min. 50% reduced processing time compared to conventional digestions, without heavy metal catalyst.

 Back

Accelerated digestion with H2O2

With the H2O2-digestion the processing time is shortened for at least 50%, compared to standard Kjeldahl digestion. H2O2 in precence of sulphuric acid is speeding up the  decomposition of organic material and a digestion is completed in about
30 minutes. Furthermore any foaming of samples is avoided. Due to the advantage that no heavy metal catalyst is needed, the application with H2O2 is more environment-friendly .

The suction module wich is especially designed for the addition of H2O2 enables for save addition of peroxide during digestion.
