The Buchi Melting Point B-540 unit is preferably used in research and in the chemistry lab, where frequently changing types of substances has to be determined and it is relevant to observe the substances during the melting process.
The unit has a metal block that serves as the heating compartment which replaces the disagreeable silicone oil. While it determines melting points and boiling points up to 400°C with maximum precision, the new heating system will reduce maintenance and ensures very short cooling-down times, assisted by a fan.
